Water Sport Lifeguard / Open Water Lifeguard Certification

  • Minimum Participation : 10 ( essential in each batch)
  • Course duration : Five days
  • Eligibility : Participants should be of 16 years and above. Should be physically and medically fit
  • Pre-requisites : Should be able to swim 300 metres non-stop, using front crawl for first 100 mtrs; breast stroke for next 100 meters; and combination of both or either, for last 100 mtrs.
  • Course Modules : Rescue Tube techniques, PIW, Lifebuoy Throws, Rescue skills from boat, Lifts & Carry methods, Sea Survival techniques, First Aid, CPR, Spinal Management, Oxygen Administration, AED Basics
  • Certification criteria : In addition to qualifying the required rescue skills from boat with equipment, participants should be able to complete 100 metres swim in 3 minutes on the final day.
  • Certificates : Successful candidates shall be awarded Proficiency certificates of SRTA. The certificates will be valid for a period of 2 years.

Power Boat Operator Certification (Tiller/Remote)

  • Minimum Participation : 10 essential in each batch
  • Course duration : Five days
  • Eligibility : Participants should be of 16 years and above. Should be physically and medically fit
  • Pre-requisites : - Should possess a valid Water Sport Operator/Open Water Lifeguard proficiency certificate. - It is mandatory for a boat operator to possess a Watersport Operator Lifeguard course certification before he starts operating a powerboat. Thus, the same trainees will have to undergo both courses i,e ; Watersport Operator Lifeguard & Power Boat Operator courses which can be conducted one after the other.
  • Course Modules : Launch & Recovery, Safe boating procedures (SOPs), Boat Manoeuvres ( RYA Level 2 stages), Man Overboard procedures, Rules of Road, Basic OBM maintenance
  • Certification criteria : Participants should qualify the Level 2 Powerboat operating modules at the end of the course.
  • Certificates : Successful candidates shall be awarded Proficiency certificates of SRTA. The certificates will be valid for a period of 2 years. The certification will be revalidated directly on successful completion of Watersport Operator Lifeguard Revalidation when due.

PWC (Jet Ski) Operator

  • Minimum Participation : 10 essential in each batch
  • Course duration : Four days
  • Eligibility : Participants should be of 16 years and above. Should be physically and medically fit
  • Pre-requisites: - Should possess a valid Water Sport Operator/Open Water Lifeguard proficiency certificate. - It is mandatory for a Jet Ski operator to possess a Watersport Operator Lifeguard course certification before he starts operating a Jet Ski.
  • Course Modules : Basic terms, parts & functions, Safe Operating procedures (SOPs), Accidents & Injuries, Trailering, Launching & Retrieval procedures, Entry & Exit surf zones, Controls & Manoeuvres, Wave judgement, Emergency Cut off & start, Capsize drill & Trouble shooting,Rescue skills with sled, rescue tube & throw bag, Crew drop & pick up, Unconscious/conscious/victim pick ups
  • Certificates : Successful candidates shall be awarded Proficiency certificates of SRTA. The certificates will be valid for a period of 2 years. The certification will be revalidated directly on qualifying an operating test & on successful completion of Water sport Operator Lifeguard/Beach Lifeguard/Open water Lifeguard Revalidations when due.

Parasail Boat Operator Certification (Level 3)

  • Minimum Participation : 10 essential in each batch
  • Course duration : 9 days
  • Pre-requisites : - Should possess a valid Water Sport Operator/Open Water Lifeguard proficiency certificate. - It is mandatory for a Parasail Boat operator to possess a valid Power Boat Operator (Remote Control) certification. - Parasail Boat operator with experience of minimum 30 logged Take off /landing preferred.
  • Course Modules : Parasail types, Harness & Crew duties, Parasail Boat parts & functions, Winch system, Parasail Harness, Boat Parasail procedures (SOPs), Safety brief & Precautions. Pre-flight/Post flight checks – during take off & after landing. Parasail Boat Operations & Handling ( Level 3 RYA circuit ), Take off & Landing practices, Accidents & Handling Emergency situations
  • Certification criteria : Participants should qualify the Level 3 Parasail Boat Operating modules at the end of the course.
  • Certificates : Successful candidates shall be awarded Proficiency certificates of SRTA. The certificates will be valid for a period of 2 years. The certification will be revalidated directly on successful completion of Watersport Operator Lifeguard Revalidation when due.
